About Me

This is my third year teaching at Leschi Elementary, and I have loved every minute of it!!!  I graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and a minor in Art.  After college I came to Seattle to work for an outdoor company. After a few years I realized that was not my passion and I found a new job in Spokane at a Montessori based pre-school.  After the first month I knew teaching was my passion.  I immediately went back to school at Gonzaga and received my Master's in Teaching with a reading endorsement.  Soon after my husband got into grad school and so we jetted off to Oxford, England.  We spent about a year in England where I had the opportunity to volunteer in a kindergarten class.  It was a wonderful opportunity to see what schools are like in another country.  I also spent some time back home in Sun Valley, Idaho where I worked at two different Montessori Pre-schools.  After England I received my job at Leschi and went to get my Montessori training in Woodinville.

I grew up in Sun Valley, Idaho and because of that have an avid love of the outdoors.  I love to ski, snowboard, cross country ski, camp, climb, and run!  I have two incredible younger siblings, a brother and sister, that continue to challenge me to keep up with them all the time.  I have been married three years to my amazing husband, Evan.  We have shared a love of traveling and been to many countries such as England, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Mexico, Spain, and many more.  This summer were able to do a long trip with my family to Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy.  When I am not at Leschi I am usually traveling, cooking, running, trying to learn italian, or eating at all the amazing Seattle restaurants.

I feel so lucky to get to know each of your children everyday and I hope knowing a little bit more about me makes these first few years of school for them exciting and wonderful!

Thanks,
Lyndsay Castilgia
